Named after the Corporal’s Guard once stationed there and formerly called friendship point, Soldiers Point lies on a spectacular peninsula that juts out from the southern shores of Port Stephens, separating one side of the port from the other. Not far from Soldiers Point is Salamander Bay, Port Stephens’ major retail shopping centre.
